Overview

The Great American Baking Show is an amateur baking competition reality show, a spinoff of the British series, The Great British Bake Off.

Our concept, Recipe for Chaos, consists of a playful exploration of structure unraveling under pressure in a competitive baking environment. Recipe for Chaos begins with clean layouts, organized typography, and recipe-inspired visuals that suggest control, preparation, and order. Inspired by baking instructions, timers, ingredients, and kitchen textures, the sequence initially feels measured and intentional, reflecting the calm before competition pressure takes over. Using collage-style animation, layered paper textures, hand-drawn scribbles, oversized baking imagery, and fast-paced transitions, the project captures the humor, stress, and unpredictability of competition baking while showing how quickly everything can fall apart under pressure.
